We’re Not Health Gurus — Just Two Busy Mums Doing Our Best

We get asked all the time about our own wellbeing routines, so we thought it was time to share them properly.

First things first — we are not health nuts.
We’re not up at 5am meditating for an hour, living on green smoothies or striving for perfection.
We’re just two very normal mums, with four kids each, busy lives, businesses to run, and all the usual juggle that comes with it.

Like so many women, we’ve learned that feeling good doesn’t come from doing everything — it comes from doing a few nourishing things consistently.

That’s what Elixir has always been about.

Energy, Hormones & Real Life

As we’ve got older, our bodies have changed — and we’ve had to listen more closely.

Between busy households, work stress and being in the perimenopause stage of life, energy isn’t something we can take for granted anymore. Add in raised cortisol levels from constant stress, and it’s no wonder so many women feel tired, wired, and run down.

For us, wellbeing isn’t about extremes — it’s about supporting our bodies gently, especially during hormonally demanding seasons.

How Juice Became Part of Our Routine

Elixir actually started when our kids were little.
We were exhausted — the kind of tired that coffee just doesn’t fix.

We wanted a realistic way to:

  • boost energy

  • nourish our bodies

  • support digestion

  • and feel more balanced

Juice became part of our daily routine because it was simple, nourishing and achievable.
Not a cleanse, not a punishment — just real nutrients, made easy.

Now, we also like to do a short juice cleanse around once a month as a reset.
Nothing extreme — just a chance to:

  • reduce the load on our digestion

  • increase hydration

  • give our bodies a break

  • and gently reset habits

It’s something we look forward to, not dread.

Movement That Supports Hormones & Stress

These days, we choose movement that works with our bodies, not against them — especially when cortisol and hormones are in the mix.

We both love:

  • Pilates (especially reformer) — strengthening without overstressing

  • Rebounding — gentle, effective and easy to fit into busy days

  • Walking — often underrated, but so powerful

We’re not chasing exhaustion — we’re chasing consistency and balance.

Sauna, Ice Baths & Nervous System Care

We’ve also both found huge benefits from sauna and ice baths, particularly for stress management.

These practices help us:

  • regulate cortisol

  • calm the nervous system

  • sleep better

  • feel more resilient day to day

Even short sessions make a difference. It’s less about trends and more about giving our bodies moments

of calm in very busy lives.

Small Acts of Self-Care Still Count

We also love natural skincare, but again — nothing complicated.

Sometimes it’s just:

  • properly cleansing at night

  • applying a serum

  • taking two or three quiet minutes to ourselves

Those moments matter. They remind us that we’re not just mums or business owners — we’re women who deserve care too.

What It All Comes Down To

Our wellbeing routine isn’t perfect, rigid or impressive.
It’s built around small, nourishing acts of self-care that support us through busy seasons, hormonal changes and everyday stress.

Juice.
Movement.
Heat. Cold.
Monthly resets.
A few minutes to ourselves.

Elixir was never about perfection — it was about creating something that supports real women with real lives.

If you’re feeling tired, overwhelmed, hormonally off-balance or just not quite yourself lately — you’re not alone. And you don’t need to overhaul your life to feel better.

Sometimes, adding just one good thing is enough to start 💚
